TGIF!

Feel like I haven't posted in a while, so here's a quick update on what we've been doing...

First of all, Maddox is getting funnier every day! I bought him this cute alligator backpack from BabyGap and had his name monogrammed on it for Mothers Day Out. I've had it laying out since I got it and he is obsessed with wearing it around the house. He doesn't even know what it is, he just likes to put it on. Its so cute! The other day he brought it to me to put on him, so I did. Then he dug through his toy drawer in the living room and found his bunny ears from Easter and brought those to me as well. So I put them on his head and he just walked around the house like that! He was so funny about it. I couldn't resist a pic so here is Madd in all the getup below. It was so funny that he did this all on his own!

We've had a fun week this week. Monday we went to eat lunch with other moms and kids and then took them to the pool. I guess there was 4 kids and they were all 2 and under. Of course, when we got to the pool, Maddox preferred to explore the surroundings rather than swim. (I think we are done going to the pool this year, its too much work on my part for him to not swim!) We both had fun and thanks to Crystal:) for inviting us!

Thursday we started back to Kindermusik. We hadn't been since Spring, so I was excited to get going again. Kindermusik is a class for kids where they learn music, rhythm, listening skills, etc. Last spring Maddox was not even crawling good, so he would sit in my lap and do everything the teacher said. NOW, however, he is walking and does NOT want to sit in my lap at all! He gets up and runs around and occasionally participates. He is having fun, but I think we miss some of the lessons:). We are actually in class with a friend of mine, Amber, from high school and another girl I went to college with. It was good to see some familiar faces! I'll keep ya posted on Maddox's progress.

Today we went to my friend Katie's house to pick up a painting she has done for the boys room. If you didn't already know, they are sharing a room. I bought Cruz the exact crib and bedding to match Maddox. It will be like if I had twins! Of course, Cruz won't sleep in the room with Maddox until we are sleeping through the night. Anyways, Katie does the cutest canvases (if your interested, I can get you her info!) and I had her do one that says "Brothers Make the Best Buddies". I gave her some fabric swatches, and here is the end result.....I LOVE IT, Katie....

So, Thank Goodness Its Friday, we plan to spend the weekend on the lake. Not many warm weekends left before Fall, so we're going to try to squeeze in as many as possible! Have a great weekend!

Baby Cruz Update....

We are now at 24 weeks. Time is really flying! He is going to be here before I know it. He is moving around a lot and you can now SEE him moving. Its such a good feeling to feel and see him. It really makes you feel like the lil guy is doing good and getting big! I've really been trying to work out this pregnancy. I'm walking a lot and go to body pump twice a week. Although, I'm starting to feel lazy and unmotivated!

The pregnancy so far has been really smooth. My only complaint are the horrible varicose veins I have gotten on my left leg. Seriously, its bad! I should post a pic just to prove myself, but its so bad I just can't! I got them with Maddox, but I got them on both legs and not as bad. I only THOUGHT they were bad then. Now I really know bad! I am so ready for cooler weather so I can wear jeans and hide them. Even Maddox came up to me the other day and stared at my legs and rubbed them. I could tell he was thinking "what is that???". They look bad, they hurt bad, and i can't quit talking about them! I've informed David I MUST get laser treatment after this delivery! No ifs, ands, or buts!

Here's a recent belly shot...It was taken last Thursday before I went to the Friendship Dinner at church....

The major drama in my life right now is Nash, our dog. I just can't handle him anymore and am begging David to let me get rid of him. He is acting out big time, making messes in the house and on the deck. I can't handle it since Maddox is walking and crawling. Its just....yuck! I don't want him anymore!!!!! I keep thinking about how crazy that dog will make me when i have two little ones to take care of. Its sad, he used to be my baby. Everything changes after you have a real baby:)!

Oh, and one more pic...here is David and Maddox before they went running errands together last weekend. Daddy picked out the outfit. Not sure if he wanted them to match, or if it just happened that way, but it was cute!

Old Friends, New babies!

Last Friday I headed to Little Rock to see my friends Will and Mandy's new baby girl, Harper Caroline (cute name, huh??!). I was so lucky to get to leave Maddox with David and head down on my own. It gave me a chance to really get to visit and hold Harper. Had Maddox been there I would have been chasing or feeding him the whole time (have I mentioned what a mess he is?). Anyways, Mandy and I had lunch together at her house. Harper is about 3 weeks now and I have been dying to meet her! She looks just like her big sis Ella. I didn't even remember what Ella really looked like when she was a baby until I saw Harper. I could immediately see the resemblance. Speaking of Ella, she is such a hoot! Seriously, the girl kept me entertained! If she had it her way we would have hung out in her room the whole time! She likes to PLAY! The only pics I got of her that day were of her jumping on a giant ball...hence the blurry action shot! She wasn't interested in posing! Ha! Below are a few pics from the visit.....Congrats again, Mandy!

While in LR I also got to visit with one of my oldest friends, Alissa. We have known each other for over 20 years (I'm old!). I actually hadn't seen her in forever, but we keep in touch through email and myspace. She has a 17 month old cutie, Donovan, who I also have been dying to meet. I really wish that Maddox could have been there so we could have gotten pics of them together, but again, I wouldn't have gotten to talk much! Donovan let me hold him for a long time and even gave me a few smiles! He is such a sweet blessing, for those of you who don't know, he was born at 24 weeks. He is such a miracle and he has the best mommy! One of my links is for "Our Micropreemie" which is a blog Alissa keeps up with info for anyone going through a similar situation....just a little plug in case you know of someone who may benefit from it! Below is a pic of Donovan and me, and old buddies, Amy and Alissa!
