Ice Storm

We have been stuck in the house since yesterday with this crazy ice storm hitting Northwest Arkansas!! I think we have over an inch of ice at this point. Tonight we'll be getting snow on top of that, so who knows when we'll get out again!

I took some pictures this afternoon of the ice outside. There is just SO much, I can't remember the last time I saw ice like this. The trees behind our house are starting to get really heavy. I'm hoping we don't loose power tonight! A few of my friends already have. And on a side note, IT IS SO HARD TO STAY ON A DIET WHEN YOU ARE STUCK IN THE HOUSE!!! I'M DYING HERE!

Find Your Wings

I've been trying so hard to get caught up on the boys baby books! Maddox's is looking good, but Cruz's still has a lot of catching up to do! There is a section in both baby books for mom and dad to write a letter for the babies to open when they are older. I was looking back at what I put in Maddox's....I letter from me, and lyrics to a song that absolutely brings me to tears everytime I hear it. Its "Find Your Wings" by Mark Harris. I decided to put the same thing in Cruz's because this song says everything I want for my boys....here are the words to the song:

It's only for a moment you are mine to hold
The plans that heaven has for you
Will all too soon unfold
So many different prayers I'll pray
For all that you might do
But most of all I'll want to know
You're walking in the truth
And If I never told you
I want you to know
As I watch you grow

I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

May passion be the wind
That leads you through your days
And may conviction keep you strong
Guide you on your way
May there be many moments
That make your life so sweet
Oh, but more than memories

I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

It's not living if you don't reach for the sky
I'll have tears as you take off
But I'll cheer as you fly

I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

Mr. Fix-It

I just HAVE to share with you what happened to our shower this past weekend. Well, let me go back a few weeks when our shower head started to have a constant drip. I asked David if he wanted me to call a plumber...his answer was no, he decided it would be easier to look up online how to fix it. He found his answer, and to my amazement, he actually fixed it!

A few weeks pass and this past Sunday morning our shower faucet broke (this is what David had messed with to fix the drip). It would turn in a complete circle instead of stopping on "on" and "off". David, again, decided to fix it himself. I was in the office when I heard a loud crash of metal in the bathroom....this is what I find:

Let me assure you that this picture does not capture the true greatness of the water. It was coming out so forceful I think it could take your skin off!
I walk in and ask David, "Is this suppose to happen?" He was struggling to get the faucet back on. I had to leave because I was laughing SOOO hard. It was like a geyser had exploded and water was coming out so forcefully that it was spraying from the ceiling to the floors. Of course I ran and got the camera! Here's Mr. Fix-It getting it under control...after he had to go shut the water off in the whole house!

I kid you not, his eyes were BLOOD SHOT after getting sprayed in the face so hard!

Moving on...here are just a few pics I thought I would share...

Here is Maddox in his personalized shirt Auntie Kim got him for Christmas...so cute!

And here are a few of Cruz, one sleeping, one awake. He is such a sweetie pie!

We're going to go play outside today since the high is 66! I'll be sure to take some pictures and do a post later.

What's new with the boys...

Just thought I would do a quick post and update on what new things the boys are doing.

Maddox is now saying:
* "HA-puls" - apples
* "pups" - cups
* "oh NOOOooooo" I so wish you could hear the full cuteness of how he says this!
* "all dund" - all done
* and anytime he sees food, whether it be on the TV or right in front of him, he gives a BIG "MMMmmmmm". I really need to get him on a McDonald's commercial or something...he could really sell you on some food!

Cruz:
* holding his head up SO good while on his tummy. He likes tummy time more than Maddox ever did!
* Sleeping so good at night! Last night he ate at 11pm and then not again till 5 am....Hallelujah!
* And best of all, we are starting to get more and more smiles. I have not been able to get a picture of one though. Still working on that!

The boys are keeping me so busy, but what a blessing they are to us. When I am holding them both early in the morning watching cartoons (Cruz in my left arm, Maddox on my right...drinking a "pup") I just can't believe they are both MINE! My sweet boys...I love you!

Eyes Wide Shut

So yesterday Maddox got his second hair cut. Again, it made him look even older! His hair is still growing at different rates, so I haven't really been able to give him a "style" yet. Maybe it will be a little more filled in next time! I want it to get a little longer, but it all grows at different speeds!

After his nap yesterday I took my camera and baby brother upstairs to get some pictures. Maddox LOVES for me to put both of them in the same bed. He'll lay down next to Cruz and look at him and laugh and play. It really is sweet! HOWEVER....I couldn't quite "capture" the full cuteness of them together because ONE of my boys will NOT open his eyes for a picture....see for yourself....

Look at what Maddox has learned....

He discovered how to torment the dog AND give Momma a headache at the same time!

Oh, that wasn't the end of it either. Maddox continued until he got himself choked up. Actually.....that wasn't the end either. It ended when I couldn't take anymore and started yelling myself! Ha!

Thank goodness for my PEACEFUL little bundle of joy!

Friends

I was so excited when my good friend Kristin came for a visit last weekend. We have been friends for what seems like FOREVER! Both from Jacksonville...pretty much grew up together, but became really good friends while working together in high school...Stonewall Pool lifeguards...best job on the planet!;)

Kristin lives in Los Angeles, but I am SO excited she is moving back...and to Northwest Arkansas! This was her first time to meet Maddox and Cruz. We toured Fayetteville, did some shopping, hung out with my boys, and had a girls dinner at Bonefish. Super fun...can't wait for you to move back, Kristin!

Here is Kristin and the boys. Maddox would not leave the poor girl alone. I think he stayed by her side the entire time she was here! She brought him a gift that he absolutely loved, a basketball bath set...he climbs in the bathtub just to play it!

Me and Kristin

Maddox and the new tub toy, thanks Kristin!

And here are some cute pics of Cruz and his friend Eden. Heather and I had our babies exactly two weeks apart.
Here we are before....

And here is the after...

And by the way, the cute Razorback gown is from my good friend Mandy. We love it and he wears it alot...thanks girl!
