My 30th Birthday Weekend!!

What a busy weekend. Think I'll mostly do pics on this one...but here is the run down...

YES, I am now old....a 30 year old. But from what everyone tells me, 30 is the new 20.

So to celebrate, we had a dinner with our closest friends at Bonefish Grill on Friday night (this was the weekend before last). Thanks to everyone who came. Even my sister and friend Kendall came up from Little Rock for the celebration. We had a great dinner and a great time. I have got some GREAT friends!

Here are some pics from dinner and a few from Eddie Haskell's afterwards:

Our collections of glow sticks....don't ask!!;)

David got me a yummy chocolate cake....can you tell I'm excited!!?

Me, Tonya, and Michelle

Me and Amber being silly...I was laughing really hard in this pic!

Can I just say, maybe 30 isn't the new 20...cause we defintily didn't act 20 at Eddie Haskell's. We thought we would keep the party going but when we got there it was too crowded, too loud, and too bright. I mean, we had a hanging light right in our faces...so we moved the table. Then the music was too loud and we couldn't talk...so we moved our table down from the speakers. Then, we started laughing uncontrollably at how OLD we were acting. So we decided to leave this annoying place and go home to play guitar hero....I love being 30!;)

Saturday we did a lake day with myself, David, Mark and Kim, and Kendall and Scott. Here are a few pics:

Saturday night we had a birthday party for Miss Ashlyn. My friend Alyssa took the best pics...go to her blog to check them out. What a great carnival party that was!
Here is one pic from the party of me and my boy, Cruz! Don't you just love how he sucks those fingers ALL the time!

After the birthday party, the boys went fishing and the girls went and ate at Table Mesa in the Bentonville Square. If you live in NWA and haven't been there, RUN THERE NOW!! YUMMY!!!!!!!!!

What a great weekend...thanks friends! You make turning 30 not so bad!!

Show Us Where You Live Friday

Posting early for Kelly's Korner...I'm leaving early in the am to take Cruz to ACH. Pray for my boy to have a negative result on the CF test. Thanks so much to everyone who has reached out to me with words of encouragement and prayers. It means the world to me to hear stories of people who have gone through similar experiences and their words of wisdom. Thank you so much! I really believe all will come back fine. I think we may have found our problem with the swallowing issue. But, please, continue to pray!:)

So for Kelly's Korner... here is my Master Bedroom. Its my least decorated place in my house. My next goal is going to get this one in shape! I have a sitting area with no furniture and none of my windows have window treatments yet. Maybe by the end of the year? We'll see!

Here is the entry into the bedroom...go left for bathroom, go right for the bedroom.

Here is the rest:

And here is a dirty little secret....we used to do P90X. What a joke! Here is all of our workout equipment collecting dust! Ha!

And I'm a little behind, so stay tuned for pics from my 30th BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!!!! There are so many I haven't had time to blog about it yet!

I've been tagged!

My friend Alyssa tagged me over on her blog...so here goes:)

The Honest Scrap award comes with a few rules. First, you have to tell your readers ten things about you that they may not know, but are true. Second, you have to tag 10 people with the award. Third, let all the people you've tagged know that they've gotten it. And finally, make sure you link back to the person who awarded you.

So here goes....

1.I taught Junior High school before I was a stay at home mom! And I loved it!!

2. I am a fan of Britney Spears...always have been, always will...don't judge me:)

3. It is insane how many times a day I check blogs and Facebook. Seriously, what the heck did I look at on the internet before these things were around!!?

4. I let my kid eat way too much junk food! Got to get that under control!

5. Laying out is one of my favorite hobbies:)

6. Cruz was a BIG surprise, but what a sweet blessing he is!

7. I was homecoming maid of honor my senior year of high school.

8. I went to college at ASU in Jonesboro...what an outsider I am here in NWA!! Home of the Razorbacks!

9. I have a serious shopping addiction. Seriously...its a problem. Buying things makes me happy, then the new wears off, then I want more. This is something I have got to work on!

10. Here is a deep dark true confession....having 2 kids so close together about put me over the edge. Seriously! I had severe post pardum...doing much better now thanks to my wonderful doctor:)

I tag:
Devin, Alissa, Bama girl in AZ, Ruthanne, Naturally Caffeinated, Casey L, Mandy, Katie C, Sarah Bell (BOTH of you...I know two!)

Cruz visited the ACH Pulmanologist!

Finally, our appointment was yesterday. As you know, my baby Cruz has had some lung issues since birth. We have had MANY trips to the pediatritian, who kept telling us he had a virus he couldn't get over. I never bought that. Motherly instinct kept telling me there was something else going on. So after lots of $$ on medications that did not help, she finally referred us to a pulmanologist with Arkansas Childrens' Hospital.

Our appointment was yesterday at 10am. They first took xrays on his chest. I wish I had pictures of how they xray a 6 month old! He was sitting on a table that had holes for his legs to go through. Then, I had to hold his arms up while they incapsulated him in a clear tube with a cut out for his face. He looked so funny in that thing! Can't believe he didn't cry!!

Next, we met with a nurse who asked a TON of questions about his medical history. When I told her that I cannot remember him every being well and always having a rattling chest, she immediatly said she suspected it had something to do with him not swallowing well and fluid getting into his lungs. Interesting! She was also concerned with his weight. He is in the "less than 3%" for wieght. She said this was somewhat alarming and decided I also needed to meet with a nutritionist while we were there.

Then Dr. Menendez came in to meet with us and she was wonderful! She agreed with everything the nurse had already suggested. They decided to put Cruz on Simply Thick, which is an additive to his bottle to make it more thick and easier to swallow. She said when he is drinking a bottle it is like a constant drip into his lungs, which then irritates them. She said the xrays showed his lungs where swollen (bronchitis) and this is because of the excess fluid.

She also said she is concerned and will keep an eye on him for possible asthma in the future. He also has really dry skin, which is a sign of that. And, with his weight issue, she decided to also have him tested for cystic fibrosis. Very scary, but I really feel confident this is not what his problem is. But a big sign of CF is not gaining weight and constant lung problems. We will be going to Arkansas Children's Hospital this Friday at 1pm to have a sweat test run. Please pray for Cruz and that his test comes back negative.

We then met with a pediatric respratory therapist who put him on 3 different inhalers. One he will take twice a day (Flovent). And 2 that he will take if he seems to be getting worse.

The nutritionist decided we needed to increase his calories, so we are making bottles with more scoops of formula than normal (with the thickener too!). So far Cruz is taking them okay. She wants him to gain an ounce a day and go back in 2 weeks for a weight check.

Whew, that was a lot of information! I feel so good to finally have some answers! Everyone at ACH was so wonderful to work with. I can't tell you how nice they were. I didn't ever feel like anyone was rushing on to the next patient. What a wonderful experience. And as no suprise, Cruz smiled throughout the entire appointment. He is so happy to be going through so much. What a sweet baby. It brings tears to my eyes to think about how bad he feels everyday and how he just stays so pleasant. I can't imagine what he'll think about life when he feels 100%!

We have a CRAWLER!

Cruz has mastered the art of the army crawl! Watch out! Unfortunately, blogger isn't currently letting me upload video...I'll get that fixed soon and

Another exciting thing for me is Cruz sitting in the high chair for meal times. I know this doesn't sound like a big deal, but for me it is a huge milestone having two kids 18 months apart! I can now put both of them in a seat, fix meals without juggling a baby in one arm, and the best part...everyone is happy! It's the little things that make my days feel a little better! Here are some pics from breakfast yesterday:

Show Us Where You Live Friday

Okay, Okay, so I decided to participate in Kelly's Korner "Show us where you live Friday's". This week is bonus rooms and game rooms and I just couldn't resist since, as you know, we have been working on ours!

Here are the before pictures:

Here are the afters:

Go Hogs!

This mirror makes me happy:)

The infamous BAR!

Got this from Riffraff:

Table and ottomans from target....stuff on top, Riffraff. Not sure about the ottomans, they were an impulse buy today!

These chairs will be recovered in orange zebra!!

This room is still a work in progress (window treatments...etc.). I rearrange it 500 times a day. This is an OCD personality trait of mine. I do it all over my house EVERY day. I move decor, move pictures, change out greenery. I'm never satisfied! David will walk in a room and feel confused on the regular basis...ha! So, Kirsten, don't kill me that it looks different...you can change it next time your here!;)

Next week is Master Bedrooms...yikes...my least decorated room in the house!!

I heart Kirsten!

Check out Kirstens blog for an game room update!! Not finished, but you can get the idea! Kirsten Blowers Interior Design!

She has been so awesome to work with and I'm so glad I walked into Riffraff and met her months back. Although its not finished, I walk into the room, like, 500 times a day and just look at it. It makes me happy!! Thanks Kirsten!!

Enjoying Summertime

We are back from our fab vacation at Orange Beach, Alabama. We had a blast! The boys loved it...can't wait to go again next year. Here are a few more pics from our trip:
RIP to our fabulous Razorback tent. We forgot to lower it one night and the wind destroyed it:(!
Mom and Cruz and Lulu's...our fave restaurant!
Cousins!Maddox playing in the water at Lulu's.
I swear, we have been celebrating Maddox's 2nd birthday for a good 2 weeks now. Since we had his party early, the presents and cake haven't stopped! For another gift, David got Maddox a REAL set of golf clubs. What every 2 year old needs, right? He was SO excited to get them and David took him out for 9 holes yesterday afternoon. (This is when having boys is real nice, Dad takes them to do "boy" stuff, Mom gets a break!!)

Here is Maddox getting his new set of clubs:

Yesterday afternoon, my friend Amber and I took the kids to the pond in our neighborhood to throw rocks in the water. Great way to wear the kiddos out before bedtime!

Here is Madd and Sadie throwing rocks:
