We just can't seem to get well around here! Maddox is still hanging on to a nasty cough and Cruz is still SUPER congested as well. I decided to go to the doctor again today. I always get nervous when my kids seem sick on a Friday since the doctors office is closed all weekend. I would hate to wait till Monday if something is bad wrong. Cruz still has a runny nose, nasty cough, and rattling chest. We also got up with him pretty much every hour last night. I thought he had an ear infection or something...however, ears and chest looked good. But Dr. Cadle thought it would be good to put him on a nebulizer, which is a breathing machine to help clear that chest out.

They taught me how to use the machine at the office and had me go ahead and give him his first treatment. Oh my gosh, CRUZ HATED IT!!! You would have thought I was suffocating the poor child. He wiggled and turned, cried and turned beet red!! It was so hard to hold that mask on his face!! What a fun week this will be (sarcasm)....I have to give a treatment 3 times a day! It will be all worth it if I can get the lil stinker to feel better!

I also talked to the doctor about something else that has been bothering me with Cruz. I have noticed he is still getting cross eyed from time to time. I looked it up in one of my books and found that babies should NOT still be getting crossed eyes at 3 months. Dr. Cadle seemed a little concerned and decided to have me take Cruz to an opthomologist (sp?). There is only one who sees babies and he is in Fayetteville. We're going in about a week and a half to meet with him. My pediatrician said he probably just has a weak muscle and we will probably have to do little "exercises" with him to strengthen it. She said as long as you catch it early it can be fixed.

I had to fight tears in the Dr's office. I just feel so bad for him! Please pray that this is not a big deal and can be fixed easily!!

On a happier note, here is my first blog video of Cruz. I took this about 2 weeks ago...he was just so happy on his little mat watching "My Friends Tigger and Pooh"! OH, and of course Maddox had to make an appearance too! :)

Sick Kids = No time to Blog!!

Oh my!! Where do I start with the week I have had?! Last Tuesday David left for a work trip in the Dominican Republic. Of course I was not super excited to be a single mom for a week, but was sure I could handle it.

The day David left, Maddox woke up with a runny nose...no big deal. Wednesday, it was a little worse. Thursday Maddox was sick with a full blown cold. He felt so bad we skipped Kindermusik that morning. That afternoon I had to take BOTH kids by myself to the pediatritian for Cruz's 2 month shots. Not fun! When we got home, my mom was waiting in the drive to come help me out for the rest of the night. I made dinner, sat Maddox down, and he began to cry super, crazy hard. I let him get down from his chair and decided I would try to feed him a little later. About 10 minutes later, Maddox was throwing up all over my kitchen floor. He continued to do this for about 5 more times in the same hour! Now we were REALLY sick! Not to mention that poor baby Cruz was also congested and now running a fever from his shots!

Thank God for my mom, who stayed the night to help and took off work the next day too. Friday afternoon we went to the doctor. As we pulled in the parking lot, Maddox threw up all over his clothes, which got all over me. Needless to say, no one was happy to see us walk in the waiting room. I could tell everyone pulled their child in a little closer to stay away from us!!

At home, we were trying so hard to keep all germs away from Cruz! Maddox kept throwing up through Saturday. He was the most lifeless little thing you've ever seen. So sad! I was so ready for David to get home! I was mentally and physically DRAINED!

Monday, Maddox got "sick" again, we made yet another trip to the doctor (thats 3 times in 5 days, if your counting). I was getting really worried. However, doctor was sure Maddox was almost well, and not dehydrated at all.

Today we woke up and I could tell Maddox was feeling much better. He has been eating a lot more and actually played with his toys today. This is pretty much the first day we haven't had Noggin on all day with Maddox laying on the couch. Praise the Lord!

So a BIG thank you to my mom! Thanks so much for staying with me and helping with the boys. And thanks to my dad, who promptly delivered Pedialyte when needed...and Olive Garden when we were hungry:)!

OH, as for Cruz's 2 month appointment....he is ABOVE the 95% for height (big surprise), and 50% for weight. Maddox was always 95% for both, so Cruz is a little skinnier:)! He is healthy, smiling, cooing, holding his head up really good, and makes great eye contact. He loves to watch brother!

Maddox is saying so many words now, I'm not sure I could think of all of them to list. One impressive thing (to him mom, at least!) is that he knows the shapes "oval" and "heart", and he can say both. It is wierd to me that he learned these first. I'm sure it means he is going to be a child genius!;)

No pics this week, believe me, you don't want to see what's been going on around here!

Valentines Weekend

We had a busy weekend! Especially Mr. Maddox, he got to do LOTS of fun stuff this weekend. Friday my parents took him to the Rogers basketball homecoming. It was his first basketball game ever. Mom and Dad said he was mostly into the band and cheerleaders. And he also wondered why he couldn't go play with all the balls that were on a rack down on the court! That night Davids dad was in town for a quick visit, so when Maddox got back he got to play with his Grandpa Mike.

Saturday was Valentines Day and we decided to go do something fun as a family. Since the weather was pretty we took Maddox and Cruz to the Gentry Drive Thru Safari. I had never been, but didn't expect much...however, it totally exceeded my expectations! There was a HUGE petting zoo area. Maddox got to play with goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, even kangaroos! He was not at all scared of anything! He got right in the animals faces and would talk "baby talk" to them. He practically fell in love with one goat in particular and kept trying to kiss it! The ducks were the scariest, believe it or not! One bit Maddox's finger and he just said "OH NOOOO"...no tears:).

The drive thru was great too...LOTS of land to cover. I'm not even sure we saw it all. Maddox had a blast...Cruz got a good nap:).

If you look close, you can see this Kangaroo has a baby in the pouch!

Okay, so next time I will not pack goldfish and cheerios in my diaper bag...goats followed David and Cruz around the whole time..it was SOOOOOOOOOOO funny!

This was one gross pig, other kids were running from it, not my boy!

Kisses...

Go Hogs!

Check out those teeth!:)

Ooooooops! We saw this a little too late! Ha!

When we got back, Maddox and Cruz opened their Vday gifts from us:

Valentines Night we put the kids down and I made a special fondue dinner for just the two of us (well, until Cruz woke up...then it was just the 3 of us!). It turned out good...never had tried it before, but it was a lot of fun. We exchanged our gifts...I got a Ipod Nano (now I'm not going to be embarrassed and hide my punie mp3 player under my shirt sleeve!!) and I got David "Guitar Hero". We stayed up LATE playing this thing...well, I think it was 11pm, but that's like 2 am to me! (times have sure changed!).

Today, Sunday, we took Maddox to see "Bob the Builder Live" at the Walton Arts Center. It was so cute, our first live show! Maddox did really good through the whole thing. He wasn't yelling or dancing like some of the other kids. He was more in amazement I think. Too cute! Below are some pics of us at the show. I feel the need to point out that we shelled out $45 in souviniers...Maddox got a TWENTY DOLLAR plastic hat and a TWENTY FIVE DOLLAR light spinner....we are such suckers for that kid!

And thanks to all who sent my boys valentine cards and goodies!! Maddox enjoyed his cards...and Cruz's!

More Ice Storm and Superbowl

I am so bad at blogging. I think about posting all the time, but don't actually find the time to do it. I can't figure out how some people keep the most awesome, detailed blogs and post everyday. I wish I could do that!

So anyways, below are some pictures of Madddox playing out in our backyard during the ice storm. He slipped and fell all over the place, but had the time of his life. He did NOT want to come in. He was red faced and soaking wet and just wanted to keep playing. He loved breaking icicles off and playing ball with Nash, our dog.

Maddox hated this hat just as much as David:)

Playing with icicles.

My sweet boy;)

Cruz and his first snow!

Maddox had a fit when we made him come in!!!

Northwest Arkansas was hit so hard by the ice storm! So many trees are broken and still patchy ice in the shaded areas. Our driveway is STILL iced over...it never sees the sun. One of the main roads leading to our neighborhood has so many limbs littering the sides it makes it hard for 2 cars to pass each other. Hopefully is will all be cleaned up soon!

Superbowl Sunday we had our friends the Hutchinsons over. Maddox had so much fun playing with Jefferson and Sadie. Cruz and Saylor are about a month apart, so they took turns crying, eating, and being super cute! Cruz is going to have so many little girlfriends...all of my friends who have had babies recently ALL had girls! Here are some pics of the kids...
