I would especially live to hear from moms if more than one boy.
My boys seem to be really destructive. They rarely play with toys. They look for somehting else to get into. Especially if it's something they can tear up. And it's about to make me loose my mind! Is this just what boys like to do?
My boys are so destructive. My house is taking a toll. And if your new to my blog i have two boys, ages 2 and 3. So maybe this is normal. I just can't keep up with them!!!
I keep thinking I'm so ready for Christmas. Maybe a bunch of new toys will help keep them occupied!!
(don't let this sweetness fool you;)....)

Oooh, Amy! As a mother of four boys, I feel your pain. All of my boys have been rowdy and destructive. I've gotten a lot of use out of my hot glue gun over the years - trying to fix things they've broken. It does get slightly better as they get older. I promise. :D
As you know, I have one boy, age 3 and then a precious little girl. Owen is the exact same way, he either wants to destroy everything or watch tv all day. He hates playing with toys! But, Santa is bringing a ton, in hopes to change that :)
Well, first of all, your boys both fall into the "terrible two" catagory. (My oldest son actually went through terrible 2's when he was 3.) You are in the midst of a very difficult period, but they will grow out of it to an extent. However, boys are WAY more destructive than girls! I have gouges out of my walls, huge stains on my carpets from spills, banged up woodwork, and a giant black spraypaint mark on my sidewalk outside just to name a few. I try to clear out my kids' toys ever so often and either goodwill them or hand them down to someone else's child because it almost seems like if they have too much of a selection, it overwhelms them and they don't play with any of it. I agree with you, though, I'm ready for Christmas so there's some new stuff to hopefully spark some interest. I feel like my kids are constantly nagging me that they're bored. Ugh!
yep, us mom's of boys have to stick together!! i have 2 boys, 4 1/2 and 6. They love to be boys...and that comes with craziness. we try to take things outside as much as possible! they have lots of energy and i've found kicking the soccer ball and just running around helps with the need to be boys. we do, however, have our share of marks on the walls and tears after wrestling matches. you are at a hard age!! mine have gotten to be best friends and generally play well together now! :) good luck and love your blog!
Mom of 2 boys -- ages 3 and 9 months
Yes, they are destructive and my 3 year old wants to BANG on everything! He is so noisy I can hardly hear myself think sometimes! I hope that little brother is not so noisy or destructive, but we'll see. But I can totally sympathize with you.
I often wonder if we did have #3 and it was a girl - would she learn to be rough too? or would she add some softness to the group?
But even as noisy as they are -- they love to snuggle too - and I wouldn't trade them for a moment:)
Hey Amy,
I have been following you too! I have known Rachel for a long time and found you on her blog. I can't help you with the boy thing...since we are in major girl overload at our house!!!! I can tell you though that my kids gets sick of toys too...unless I play with them and the toys. They don't really know how to be creative without me it seems...ugh!! They would much rather hang on me and have me entertain them all day long! HA! I am hoping Christmas presents really liven things up around here too! Love your blog! We will have to hang out sometime when we come up to NWA and hang with Rachel...and I am NOT pregnant!
Luckily Jacob isn't destructive, but he is aggressive. He's pushing, pulling, throwing and is misbehaving like no one's business. He's going to get us kicked outta daycare! HA! I think though it has a lot to do with jealousy issues over Levi. We do time outs, sad spot, even a spanking here and there and nothing works! I'm hoping it's a phase he quickly passes!
