We just can't seem to get well around here! Maddox is still hanging on to a nasty cough and Cruz is still SUPER congested as well. I decided to go to the doctor again today. I always get nervous when my kids seem sick on a Friday since the doctors office is closed all weekend. I would hate to wait till Monday if something is bad wrong. Cruz still has a runny nose, nasty cough, and rattling chest. We also got up with him pretty much every hour last night. I thought he had an ear infection or something...however, ears and chest looked good. But Dr. Cadle thought it would be good to put him on a nebulizer, which is a breathing machine to help clear that chest out.

They taught me how to use the machine at the office and had me go ahead and give him his first treatment. Oh my gosh, CRUZ HATED IT!!! You would have thought I was suffocating the poor child. He wiggled and turned, cried and turned beet red!! It was so hard to hold that mask on his face!! What a fun week this will be (sarcasm)....I have to give a treatment 3 times a day! It will be all worth it if I can get the lil stinker to feel better!

I also talked to the doctor about something else that has been bothering me with Cruz. I have noticed he is still getting cross eyed from time to time. I looked it up in one of my books and found that babies should NOT still be getting crossed eyes at 3 months. Dr. Cadle seemed a little concerned and decided to have me take Cruz to an opthomologist (sp?). There is only one who sees babies and he is in Fayetteville. We're going in about a week and a half to meet with him. My pediatrician said he probably just has a weak muscle and we will probably have to do little "exercises" with him to strengthen it. She said as long as you catch it early it can be fixed.

I had to fight tears in the Dr's office. I just feel so bad for him! Please pray that this is not a big deal and can be fixed easily!!

On a happier note, here is my first blog video of Cruz. I took this about 2 weeks ago...he was just so happy on his little mat watching "My Friends Tigger and Pooh"! OH, and of course Maddox had to make an appearance too! :)

Awe, I will say prayers, I am sure Cruz will be just fine thank's to his great mommy! I must say, he is your twin, he is the Johnson baby out of the two boys. I hate that you are STILL dealing w/sick kiddo's, poor babies AND mommy and daddy!!! I hope they get well soon!

Oh I am so sorry that they are still sick. We go to Cadle too and she has been so good to us so you are in good hands =). I am sure the eye thing will be fine. We are getting ready to take Owen to speech therapy, I am pretty much the only one that can understand him =). I know it is scary when you have to do things that seem out of the usual. Have a good weekend!

I'm so sorry the kids are both still sick! Are you taking Cruz to the Henry Eye Clinic in Fayetteville? Neely sees Dr. Daud there. (We really like him) I was concerned about her eyes too & luckily everything is fine.

Amy,
Your family is so beautiful! I loved looking at your blog - I have linked it to ours so I can see when you update it. Hope the boys are all better soon. I will be so happy when cold and flu season are finally over! Hope to see you soon.

Oh, Amy! Bless your heart! I have some advice on the nebulizer. Ainsley has asthma and Grady now has pneumonia so we've had LOTS of experience with the breathing treatments. First, forget the mask for babies. You need to get the pipe thing for older kids/adults that they're supposed to put in their mouths. Grady LOVES it. Ainsley did too. They just chew on it, or you can just follow them around and hold it up close to their nose/mouth until it's gone. Works fantastic! No more tears in our house...I hope it helps in your house too! I'll be praying for those babies! (And Mommy)
